It is comprised of students who are familiar with the higher positions on their instruments. Violins will go into 7^th-10^th positions. Violas will use 3^rd-5^th positions and read treble clef. Cellos will go into thumb position and read tenor and treble clef. Basses will also use the upper positions; occasionally thumb position, tenor and treble clef. The Varsity orchestra plays original unabridged, professional level music and requires a commitment for rehearsals outside of the regular school day.
